It’s Showtime
Thank you so much for the opportunity to speak to the Vietnamese people Sunday night…I am grateful and excited! As I prayed about what would the Lord have me to say to the people, I believe He spoke to me about John the Baptist and things Jesus and the Bible said about him. So, if it is okay with you, I would like to talk to them about 4 key areas of their walk with God and how God is right now moving some of them into new areas of knowing HIm, serving Him, and sharing Hm to others. These areas are conception, incubation, revelation, and ignition. I will call this message "It's Showtime!"
1. The Bible says in Luke 1:8-11, that Zechariah - John's earthly father - while doing his regular priestly duties and responsibilities, had a visitation from an angel who told him the plan of God concerning a coming son God would give him named John. I will use this to talk about how God has great plans and purposes for each of us and desires to do great and mighty things with us and through us. However, such conception of the plans and purposes of God for our lives will only be made known in His presence as we spend time in prayer, in the Word, in worship, in church. In the secret place where we meet God, He will download His strategies and desires to us.
2. The second thing I want to share with them is about incubation. The Bible says in Luke 1:11-17 that Zecharais and Elizabeth would have a baby whose name would be John and that John would have joy and gladness and cause many to rejoice at his birth. It says that John would be great in the sight of the Lord, would not indulge in the things of the world, and would be filled with the Spirit of God in his mother's womb. It also says that because of John, many people would turn to the Lord and that he would make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Of course, John was born and verse 80 says that he "grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in desserts till the day of his showing to Israel." I will use this passage to talk about how God requires us to incubate with HIs plans and purposes. Like a newborn baby that is born to early and has to spend time in an incubator before leaving the hospital, God prepares us for what He has for us and desires to do through us. He does not just send us into things unprepared or not equipped. During this incubating process He teaches us His Word, teaches us how to war in prayer, teaches us how to hear His voice and progress from lambs to sheep. He fills us with His Spirit to give us power to live in victory.
3. The third thing I want to share is about revelation. The Bible says in Luke 1:80 that John was "in the deserts till the day of his showing to Israel." John was born and waxed strong in spirit while he was in the dessert till the day of his showing. Notice how the Bible says he was in the dessert "till". In other words, there was a set time for him to be hidden in preparation. THEN came the "day of his showing to Israel." Many people have been in the dessert of preparation, carrying a plan and purpose of God inside them. God has been preparing them and making them ready. And I hear the Lord saying to tell them, "IT'S TIME TO BE REVEALED…I AM ABOUT TO SHOW YOU TO OTHERS SO THAT THE GOD IN YOU CAN BE SEEN IN POWER, IN PROVISION, IN PROTECTION, IN SIGNS AND WONDERS…I AM ABOUT TO MANIFEST MY GLORY IN AND THROUGH YOU TO OTHERS…" God is moving some of His people form incubation to revelation as the time of their showing to this lost and dying world is NOW! I hear the Lord saying, "IT'S SHOWTIME FOR MY CHILDREN! IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO BE SEEN SO THAT I CAN BE SHOWN TO THE WORLD - NOT IN WORDS ONLY BUT IN DEMONSTRATIONS OF SUPERNATURAL POWER!
4. The final thing I want to share with them is about this word "ignition." Jesus said in John 5:35 that John "was a burning and a shining light" Jesus came to baptize is with the Holy Ghost and fire. In this time we are living in, we must be set ablaze by the Spirit of God. Fire purifies us; fire empowers us; fire reveals us as the Lord's; fire is contagious and spreads. We must be ignited with the fire of God in order to be contagious to others and spread this gospel to our families, neighborhoods, cities, and nations. John burned while he could and Jesus called him a burning and shining light. Jesus also said in John 5:36 that "I have greater witness than that of John…" He said in John 14:16-18 that "I will ask the Father and He shall give you another Comforter that will abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not and doesn't know him. But you know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you . I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you." We must burn for Him! We must allow Him to burn through us! Many people are ready to not only be revealed out of their incubation, but to be ignited for God in fresh way so that Jesus in them becomes contagious to others.
