Background: As of November 2013, Kakuma Refugee Camp, located in north western Kenya, was host to 128,009 {UNHCR Statistics November 30th 2013} people.
 

Between January and November 2013 the camp received an average of 1,500 new arrivals per month, as refugees fled violence from parts of Sudan and South Sudan. Of the new arrivals, 59.7% were from South Sudan and 13.2 % were from Sudan. 

The new influx of refugees has put a strain on basic humanitarian aid offered in the camp, which has already exceeded its initial capacity of 100,000.
